Supabarn Kingston embraces IoT for food safety

In our nation’s capital, Supabarn is a household name. The independent supermarket chain focusses on local-sourced produce, quality, price and service.

The recently opened Supabarn Kingston has installed CCP’s wireless temperature monitoring solution to strengthen food safety and reduce business risk.

In food retail environments, refrigeration is critical. Refrigeration failure is expensive and inconvenient; it results in product loss, disrupts store operations and potentially compromises food safety.

Michael White, CCP’s CEO, said that with CCP’s Internet of Things (IoT) solution now installed, business risk is significantly reduced.

“CCP is a low-cost contemporary solution to monitor a fridge 24/7 – less than 50 cents per day. If temperature tolerances are breached, CCP sends notifications by email and SMS.” he said.

When it comes to meeting food safety regulations, automated wireless temperature monitoring and record keeping is more reliable and accurate than manual checking. Analytical performance reports across all refrigeration supports predictive maintenance and HACPP reports underpin food safety regulatory compliance.
